GRAYED ‎ OUT

RITA LIRA

Illustration

DESCRIPTION:

A short film that explores the state of exhaustion and the sensation of internal constraints. Transparent ribbons symbolize personal limitations that can be significantly restraining both internally and externally, yet remain completely invisible and incomprehensible to others. The gray liquid represents complex and heavy emotions. Through movement and transparent vessels, the artist seeks a place to "contain" these emotions, as the attempt to keep everything inside feels self-destructive. The video illustrates how forms in architecture, objects, and movement rhyme, demonstrating how intangible emotions or feelings can change scale and take on form, color, and motion.

Site: L’Axe Majeur — monumental sculpture by Dani Karavan, Sergy-Pontoise, 1980 (France).

There is also a version of the project in the form of a live performance.
