ANTHILL DANCE THEATER

DESCRIPTION:

We live in an organisation ruled by power we think we control — yet history proves otherwise. RUBICON is an immersive performance that explores cycles of rebellion, collapse, and illusion of control. Inspired by The Fourth Turning by William Strauss and Neil Howe, the performance explores the moment when each viewer has power to choose — will they remain the ones who rule the history or will they become those who submit to the cycle?
Every action has meaning.
Every cycle has consequences.

INNA ‎ MATIUSHYNA

ANDRIY ‎ PODLESNIY

Choreographer, teacher, founder and artistic director of Anthill Dance Theater (ADT)
In 2023, Inna founded Anthill, an independent dance theater whose name reflects a system-driven approach to work and a strong sense of collective spirit. Through dance and the combination of different techniques and styles, the theater explores historical, political, social, and existential dimensions of human experience.
Inna worked on the creation of Ukraine’s first rap musical "You [Romantica]" and the historical musical "Rebelia", both of which toured extensively across Ukraine and were later filmed and presented in Europe and the United States. She was also a researcher and choreographer for the project "Between the lines" of the first Ukrainian theatre in London VYR and a participant in the Ukraine Living Archive by Studio Wayne McGregor and Ukrainian Contemporary Dance Platform.
In her artistic practice, Inna actively explores the integration of technology into stage art, working with immersive formats and new tools of interaction to build a meaningful, deep connection between the performance and the audience, and to enhance audience engagement within the theatrical experience.

Theatre producer, actor and writer. He graduated from the Kharkiv National University of Arts named after I. P. Kotlyarevsky in 2020.
In 2020, he founded a creative theatre laboratory on the small stage of the Hryhorii Kvitka-Osnovianenko Kharkiv Academic Drama Theatre. He worked as a line producer, assistant organizer, and lead actor in the independent production "Not I" based on the text by Samuel Beckett (Kharkiv, 2021), and as a producer of the performative project "Rubicon"(Kyiv, 2024).
As an actor, Andriy performed in the rap musical "You [Romantica]" and the performance "Robbery" (Hamburg). In 2024, he played the lead role in the feature film "Immortal Flowers". He works across theatre, film, and television projects and has experience in international performances, as well as in coordinating creative and technical teams.
