The dance of death is a powerful motif that has been around for centuries and takes on various forms in world art, and is as natural as the process to which it refers - death.
Today, war is raging in Ukraine, death has acquired completely new meanings, evokes completely new emotions, associations, and becomes a more relevant subject of philosophical and intellectual research. Today, we are faced with the undisguised duality of this fundamental phenomenon of our nature. We feel acute pain and longing for the fallen military defenders, heroes, our fellow citizens, killed and tortured peaceful Ukrainians, children. But at the same time, we follow the statistics of the killed occupiers, rejoice in the deaths of soldiers and terrorists of the enemy army.
Death statistics have become part of our daily information and emotional diet. Ukrainian society has changed. And like Bruegel with his painting The Triumph of Death, today's artists cannot avoid resonating with the events in which they find themselves.Dance of Death. Remember Death.
