DESCRIPTION:

A dance performance that explores existence within defined borders: of the body, territories, and abstract limits imposed by society. This work researches the dual nature of borders: both as hostile barriers that cannot be crossed and as protective spaces that provide safety. The performance invites the audience to reflect on how these boundaries, often seen as limitations, also shape and define the way we live within them.

«Border/Body Line»challenges and rethinks the concept of borders, questioning their role in our lives and their impact on our existence.

OLHA ‎ DROBYSH

Choreographer and director from Kharkiv. Founder of LeRoy Dance Company, a contemporary dance and performance company.

For five years, she taught at the Department of Art of Choreography at Kharkiv State Academy of Culture. As PhD candidate at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, she is researching contemporary dance in Israel.

She studied in short-term programs in Tel Aviv with choreographers from Batsheva Dance Company, Vertigo Dance Company, and Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company; and in Berlin at the B12 Festival.

In 2023 she took part in Sasha Waltz & Co performance «InC» as part of Kharkiv Music Fest. Same year she made a debut as a music video director for the band 0%Mercury. She currently teaches in Totem Dance School in Kyiv.
